Icy lips to lips, heart left frozen
Freezing the blood in your veins

Time is irrelevant, it's going to be a long winter
Dark but iridiscent, it's going to be a cold December
Icy lips to lips, heart left to stall and stutter
Frozen limbs try not to crack or shatter
Steel the air and say
What you want to say
If you have to today
Blankets and jackets do little
To hold you inside
Watch as the sun sets
Embrace the night
It's going to be a long winter
And you want it that way
It's going to be a cold winter
Wouldn't have it any other way

I just couldn't walk away from that piece without trying something.  I've always been fascinated by images of cold and winter for use in poems for some reason.  Hope you enjoy it!  (Also, please read that poem and fav it if you enjoy it.  )  Comments
